The SMARTIVERSE community is growing! We are delighted to welcome the University of Aveiro, Portugal, as a new full partner in our international consortium.
The University of Aveiro joins partners from Germany, Austria and Portugal in our shared endeavour to rethink STE(A)M education for primary schools. Together, we are exploring how science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics can be connected with environmental sustainability, critical digital media literacy, and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
The arrival of a new partner is about much more than expanding a consortium. It brings new perspectives, experiences and possibilities for learning from one another. The University of Aveiro will enrich the collaborative development of the SMARTIVERSE educational framework, academic module and open educational resources, helping us create approaches that are both research-informed and meaningful for teachers and learners.
At the heart of SMARTIVERSE lies a shared question: How can we prepare teachers and children to engage critically, creatively and responsibly with the complex challenges of the future?
We look forward to exploring this question together with our colleagues at the University of Aveiro. Their participation will contribute to the co-creation, testing and refinement of learning experiences that connect STE(A)M with real-world concerns while keeping accessibility, participation and inclusion at the centre.
A very warm welcome to the University of Aveiro! We are excited about the ideas, conversations and learning experiences ahead – and about everything we will create together as the SMARTIVERSE continues to grow.
