We are pleased to share that our work was presented as a poster at the ATEE Winter Conference at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal on the 1st of April with the theme of Science and Mathematics Education in the Digital Era, an important international forum dedicated to advancing teacher education research, policy, and practice. The conference brought together educators, researchers, and practitioners from across Europe and beyond to exchange ideas on the future of teaching and learning.
Our poster introduced the SMARTIVERSE framework, and initial results of the first cycle of SMARTIVERSE module that explores how integrated STEM (iSTEM) can be strengthened through sustainability education, entrepreneurship, digital media literacy, and civic engagement.
The poster also highlighted our research methodology, which uses a design-based research approach with action research orientations. This allows us to iteratively develop, test, and refine learning models in authentic educational settings. One of the project’s key outputs is an ECTS-recognised teacher education module, supported by multilingual open educational resources (OER), to be implemented across partner institutions in seven European countries.
Presenting at the ATEE Conference was a valuable opportunity to discuss the SMARTIVERSE Framework with colleagues from different contexts, receive constructive feedback, and build new connections for future collaboration. Conversations during the poster session confirmed the strong interest in innovative teacher education models that integrate STEM with inclusion, sustainability, and digital competence.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important dialogue and look forward to sharing ongoing and future developments and from the SMARTIVERSE project.
